The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is looking for individuals interested in serving as members on one of its five advisory committees. Advisory committees provide recommendations to the TxDMV Board and Executive Director on rules and policy issues related to the TxDMV..
The advisory committees include:
- Customer Service and Protection
- Motor Carrier Regulation
- Household Goods Rules
- Motor Vehicle Industry Regulation
- Vehicle Titles & Registration

Advisory Committee Focus Areas
Advisory committees offer advice and recommendations on specific issues as requested by the board. The focus area of each advisory committee is described below.
Customer Service and Protection: Advises the department on issues related to improving and enhancing department customer service including infrastructure; new customer service initiatives; policy and process improvements; technology; investigation and enforcement issues, including vehicle titles and registration fraud; lemon law; the warranty performance program; household goods movers; and other consumer protection topics, as requested by the board.
Household Goods Rules: Advises the department on issues related to the protections for consumers using the service of a motor carrier who is transporting household goods for compensation as requested by the board.
Motor Carrier: Advises the department on issues related to regulation of the motor carrier industry as requested by the board.
Motor Vehicle Industry: Advises the department on issues related to regulation of the motor vehicle industry as requested by the board.
Vehicle Titles and Registration: Advises the department on issues to related to vehicle titles and registration as requested by the board.
